Chiropractic largely focuses on the structure and movement of the body. It’s not limited to the spine, rather encompasses all joints and soft tissues and nerves that connect it. Ensuring that your joints and body are moving well prevents bigger challenges down the road. It is an important part of a maintaining healthy lifestyle.
Chiropractors are considered Primary Care Providers in the province of Alberta. We can do all imaging, diagnosis and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions within our scope of practice. Anything outside of our scope would indicate a referral to a specialist such as orthopedist, neurologist, or specialized imaging which we can provide.
Massage Therapy
Therapeutic Massage is used to manage muscle and fascial dysfunction such as soreness, injury, sprains and strains. Massage can also be used to improve lymphatic drainage, blood flow and mobility. Massage can be an independent treatment option or a co-treatment strategy with Chiropractic care. While Chiropractic care addresses joint function, massage can support tissue through the healing process.
A Registered Massage Therapist must have completed 2400 hours of training through an accredited program and complete continuing education annually. A Registered Massage Therapist has an in-depth understanding of the musculoskeletal system. They are trained to have various tools and techniques to address challenges in the muscles. Only Registered Massage Therapists are covered by third insurance providers.
